Luna Lovegood, sometimes called "Loony" Lovegood, is the daughter of Xenophilius Lovegood, editor of The Quibbler, and his late wife Pandora, who died when Luna was nine. Since that point, Luna has been able to see thestrals, animals which pull the carriages to Hogwarts. She came to Hogwarts at the age of eleven and was in the same year as Ginny Weasley, but in the Ravenclaw House. Luna has long, wavy blond hair and a permanently-surprised, "dreamy" expression. She is quite quirky, and believes in things that are not necessarily proven to exist.
Default 'verse: Default canon point is immediately post-Battle of Hogwarts, but I can and do play her from any point in the timeline. Follows book canon up until the end of Deathly Hallows, at which point I do add in the whole Lovebottom (Luna/Neville) bit from the movie.
